Captain (5 day-work week)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Assist the Assistant/Restaurant Manager to run the daily operations of the Restaurant
  • Ensure first class service and food & beverage offerings to in room guests to maximize outlet profits and guest satisfaction
  • Greets guest at the table promptly and informs them of specials and promotional menu, makes suggestions and answers questions regarding food, beverages and service
  • Takes orders from guests and relays the order to kitchen staff and bartender as appropriate
  • Keeps a discreet eye on the guests to ensure they are satisfied with the food and service, to respond to any additional requests and to determine when the course/meal has been completed
  • Proceed the billing procedure for the guests at the end of the meal
  • Sets up tables for each course according to the outlet standards
  • Assists with stocking the work stations, polishing silverware from table, return the soiled linen, restocking the clean linen and folding napkins
  • Keeps abreast of the food and beverage promotions, new menu items daily specials, and other relevant information for the outlet guests
  • Attend and contribute to all staff meetings, briefings, training sessions and any related activities

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Hotel school graduate or equivalent, preferably with a specialization in Restaurant
  • Basic knowledge all food and beverage items offered, including ingredients, methods of preparation and proper service
  • Proficient in spoken English, Chinese and Putonghua/ other foreign language would be an advantage
